Survival Seed Vault Non-GMO Hardy Heirloom Seeds for Long-Term Emergency Storage – 20 Variety Pack in a Sturdy Can

I got a few of these seed banks about five years ago when we started a community garden project at our church. I opened one to plant with, and it has been an awesome experience. I just used the last of my Blue Lake beans from the original package this year, and so far I've got about 50-60% germination. The first season I used them, it was up around 95%. After five years of being open, and using some of the seeds every year, I'm amazed that they still germinate at all, to be honest. There are still several varieties of vegetable in the pack that I just haven't gotten around to trying yet. I'd say in five years of small plot (20'x20') gardening I've used maybe 1/10th of the seeds in the container over all.The plants grown from these seeds are amazingly fruitful too. We planted six cucumber plants two years ago and ended up with more than 200 cucumbers harvested!!! I had more cucumbers than I knew what to do with, so I made a new cucumber salsa recipe that the guys at work love.In short, this is a heck of a deal for what you get. Keep the seeds in the sealed packages and they last a long time. Open them and use them, and you can still get 3-5 years of solid gardening out of them, not to mention any seeds you save from one harvest to the next. Whether you're planning to try your hand at a small veggie garden, you're an experience farmer, or a concerned citizen looking to secure a solid source of renewable food you can't really go wrong with this purchase.

This is the 3rd seed vault I have bought from My Patriot Supply. I have the Herbal Tea vault, a Survival Seed Vault in the old can, and one Survival Seed Vault in the redesigned can. All the seeds in this vault are are non-GMO heirloom seeds, which means I can harvest the seeds and save them for future planting.The new redesigned can fits perfectly on a door shelf in my refrigerator for long term storage. I only buy heirloom seeds so that I can save the seeds from year to year. This is my first purchase of the Heirloom Emergency Survival Seeds. Now, I am not in an area where I can test them at this time. But what I can do is tell you about the container and seed amounts that are advertised. The seed vault was shipped in a standard Amazon box, complete with air pillows, to prevent denting. The aluminum canister is further sealed via a very good lid seal, and extends roughly 3/4 of an inch into the canister, for added protection. There is also a black seal that you must cut in order to open the can, for added security upon purchase. Inside the can, is a plethora of seeds to start your one acre garden. What I DO know, is that the amount of seeds advertised on each package are in sealed envelopes, for even MORE protection from the elements and weather conditions.The description explains that all seeds are "heirloom" seeds, and do not have any GMO or Frankenstein Foods DNA in them. So that the monopoly that "Monsanto" holds on those foods cannot claimed in a lawsuit years from now. That being said, I am not a botanist, and therefore cannot know of a surety that they are indeed "heirloom" seeds. All I can really do is trust in the description of what I bought, and hope that I have purchased the real deal, and can enjoy real, "clean" food of my own.As of this date, I intend to purchase a few more of these cans, so that, in case some of the seeds don't actually grow, I have others to take their place. I advise anyone that is researching heirloom seeds to go to their actual website, and make their own conclusions.

It's winter here so I don't know how good they grow but just for the packaging and the fast shipping and price, I gave it a 5 star now. Will edit this next summer after I plant some.

I havent tested the seeds inside because i want to wait a cople of years. But the casing came in without a scratch that good. Only thing is it lost a star because the seal that they use for the metalic cover is plain electrician tape... but i hope the seeds are in seperate bags and sealed off
