iStubz Bundle USB Dock Cable Black (Pack of 2)

I've noticed a lot of bad reviews, so I though I'd put in my experiences. I have 3 of these. 2, for sure, are Genuine iStubz from cablejive.com, but they all work perfectly! The construction is great and they connect easily like Apple's cables. I've had the first 2 for a few years now and prefer to use them instead of Apple's cables. This review is for Genuine iStubz cables. There is a lot of aftermarket crap out there that may be sold under this Amazon listing, so please check the ones you get or got.

I got these both for using my iphone in a dock in my car, and for charging my phone at my laptop while travelling. I like the length, and the cables did work properly when new, but unfortunately they broke quickly.I don't think the plastic end pieces are actually connected to the main wire, they just slide to the end and remain there because of the tight fit over the end pieces. The problem with this design, is that there is nothing to prevent the smaller individual wires inside from twisting as the cable bends with normal use.Over time, the connection became spotty and would only connect and sync if held in a specific position. Later, it went out entirely.With that in mind, I can't really recommend this product. I now use the Griffin GC17080 USB to Dock Connector Cable for iPod & iPhone - Coiled which is not as sleek but is still working great.

I bought one set for myself and one for my husband. We've used these sets exactly 3 times to charge our iPhones and iPads overnight. This morning, my long cable fell apart at the iPad end when I disconnected it. The other reviewer was right. This set is just junk!! If possible, I would have left 0 stars.

I bought these because I wanted the short one for my car as I have an aftermarket head unit with a USB jack and a vent mount that holds my iPod above it. The distance between the iPod and stereo is only and inch or two, so having a 4 foot white cable all over the place was a little overkill. The small cable works great for this. The medium cable I keep in my laptop bag for use on the go. Great for charging up my iPhone while plugged in next to my laptop. I saw some bad reviews on both this product, as well as the single cables, and the main reason for me writing this review is to let people know that they aren't as bad as people say they are. (maybe there was a bad batch) Sure, they don't feel like 100% authentic Apple cables, but they seem good enough. I also haven't had any issues of the plug coming apart like others have. used for my car to plug into car audio - never unplugged and let it sit still for weeks but still it wore out quickly - had to go back to the factory cable

Other reviews had indicated the low quality of these cables, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I ordered the 2 cable black bundle and an additional 7cm black cable. All three cables arrived with the connector housings loose. I can understand that production problems happen, but the connector housings could be seen as askew in the sealed packages. I didn't even get to plugging any of them in.

Yes, one of cables broke on first use. The plastic cover came off when I tried to disconnect my iPhone and several wires broke loose - It's garbage now: the wires can't be soldered back onto the plug and it's such a cheap item there is no point in pursuing any kind of warranty claim. I use the remaining plug in an application where it never, ever has to be unplugged but I'm sure it will break if I try to disconnect it. Don't waste your money: buy a higher quality cable.

I had the same problem with many of the other commenters - the cable housing was obviously loose. I decided to give the cable the benefit of the doubt and attempt to use it anyway, but after 2 days, normal unplugging rendered the soldering on the connections loose and the cable stopped functioning. I got a full refund (thankfully), but it was a waste of time to even try this product.
