As with all buzz cuts, your roots start to show within days, so I wanted something that would gently lift the brown but would be kind to my hair. It smelt like bleach, and I had a little tingling on my scalp as I do with any dyes containing ammonia. It lifted about 2 levels, which I was very happy with and I left it in for 40 minutes. I'm super pleased with how even my hair looks and also how soft it is. It's very easy to mix, and the after colour conditioner is brilliant. Colour is very vibrant in direct sunlight, and more midnight blue indoors.Would suggest leaving the conditoner in for at least 5 minutes and avoid washing (even with water) for the first 2-3 days to maintain as much colour as possible as some does wash out (hence 4 staes).
