Works well for one operation, then won’t work again for an hour or so
I bought this for heat shrink on cables and the first operation works well, even when used for a prolonged period. It then won’t operate again for at least an hour. I tried swapping to a newly charged battery but it wouldn’t run again, until I can only guess, a thermal cut out resets. If they could resolve this issue it’d be a good piece of kit. I returned it, as it’s no good to be used to replace a mains voltage one which can be used frequently throughout the day.

Works, but only on 100% battery
Product works well, when it works. I’m an electrician and I use it for heat shrink on cable lugs. If I pause between the cable cores and turn it off, it will not work again, until I put the battery back in the charger and get it to 100% again. This is what I’ve sussed out, with trying different ways of getting it to work again, even though I’ve used 1% of the battery. It didn’t seem to be a thermal cut out issue. I would only rely on this for light duty work.

Good for heating tanking membrane, though there may be reliability issues.
We bought 2 of these heat guns to help us apply the tanking membrane to ICF sub-basement on a self-build plot that does not yet have mains electricity. One had to be returned and replaced as the heating element ceased to work after only an hours usage. Generally, they fulfilled our needs, heating up the membrane to enable it to stick to the ICF. The over-heat protection circuit would cut off fairly often, which was a bit annoying. We used 4* 5.0Ah batteries which lasted a whole day, but remember they were not it constant use for that time. I'd say that this is a pretty good alternative to the far more expensive Makita option, but I'm not sure how it would stand up to 'professional' usage.

Does the job
I had to return because it did not fit my batter pack I had.

It’s hot but not that hot!
Ok so I had little hope for this but simply needed one so if it did the job once, I would be happy. Well I am happy! It’s a great bit of kit that lasts about 5 mins on a 4Ah battery although the fit for the batteries could be better! It’s ok! Update: this thing gets to about 260c Maximum. It is ok for heat shrink but that also depends on size, it struggles to heat the big stuff.

Ok..
Handy to have in the bag but struggles with larger heat shrink - As an electrician who works outside its just not good enough.Within panels doing small heatshrink on small cables, Perfect.
