This is great real for the price and the size works perfect on a medium heavy rod. This reel is smooth and balance out my rod and build quality is great. It cast super far as well.

Very smooth, easy to use and adjust. Quality feel and look. Great, inexpensive reel.

I have another larger KastKing reel that I use for salmon and steelhead. I purchased this because my Eagle Claw reel finally wore out. I feel this KastKing will be a durable replacement. It has a very positive bail throw and a smooth action. It is a great size and weight for my 6 ' 5 " spinning rod. I chose the color red which stands out in contrast to the brush. When I set my pole down, it's easy to find it again because it is bright red. Don't overfill the spool, line comes off and tangles easily if you do that. Caught a small trout today. The reel worked very well this morning fishing.

I just got the reel & haven't fished with it yet. I just want to give my initial impressions.I'll update my review after I've used it a few times.The first things I noticed were, first of all, unlike some of the other Kast King spinning reels I've bought this one only comes with one spool.That's not a problem for me since the spare spools are usually not the best quality anyway. It's just nice to have a backup if you only bring one reel and happen to get spooled.The reel also has an anti reverse switch, another thing I never use, and one more thing to go wrong, but I know they're people who do like to use it.It should be fine as long as it's kept clean and free of salt or sand.When I put the handle on I realized that it doesn't fold.I rarely fold my handles anyway, but it can be a useful feature at times.Otherwise this reel seems like a great little reel for the money.It's very smooth and feels solid.It's possibly a little heavy for a reel of it's size, but I consider that a trade-off for the aluminum spool and solid frame, which I'd choose over plastic all day long.The description says the reel has a carbon fiber drag and stainless steel main shaft and double shielded ball bearings.This reel should last a long time and perform well with a little bit of routine maintenance.This should be a great little all purpose reel for fresh and salt water.

This reel was a steal for the price, and it has already proven itself to be much higher quality than I was expecting. I threw on some nice braided and took it down to the river and everyday it amazes me how well it performs.Absolutely zero question that it will last and be a favorite in my go to reels for walleye.

This thing is seriously worth the money. I've had it for coming up on a year now, I go fishing every weekend swapping between freshwater and saltwater. This has been my main reel paired with a trusty ugly stick. I've caught many a fish and have yet to have a problem. I keep it oiled and greased and it's performance is phenomenal still. I'm now buying my second kast king reel for saltwater only (sharky 3) and I'm excited to try it out this weekend. Get this reel, you won't be disappointed
