Reliable Sun Protection
The Sun Bum Original SPF 50 Sunscreen Face Lotion is an absolute game-changer when it comes to sun protection for my face. As someone who spends a lot of time outdoors, I need a sunscreen that I can trust to keep my skin safe from the sun's harmful rays. This face lotion does just that and more. The SPF 50 provides high-level protection against both UVA and UVB rays, helping to prevent sunburn and premature aging. I love that it's lightweight and non-greasy, so it doesn't feel heavy or clog my pores. Instead, it absorbs quickly into my skin, leaving it feeling hydrated and nourished. Plus, the original Sun Bum scent is incredibly refreshing and reminds me of summer days at the beach. Overall, the Sun Bum Original SPF 50 Sunscreen Face Lotion is a must-have for anyone looking for reliable sun protection that won't weigh them down. It's become an essential part of my daily skincare routine, and I wouldn't leave the house without it!

Good texture, non-irritating and it works
I used this in the past and really liked it. It goes on easily, smells good, it's non-sticky and most of all it really works well to prevent burning. When I ran out I tried two other products when I couldn't find this in a local store. One was a cheap store brand: thick, hard to rub in, irritated my skin and provided almost no protection. The other provided some protection but was a bit sticky/hard to apply and caused skin irritation. So I came back to this brand and it's slightly less expensive on Amazon than in the local drugstore.

Decent chemical sunscreen with less toxicity concerns
The Environmental Working group (EWG) gives this product a 4/10, so it is within my acceptable range for a 100% chemical sunscreen. I have tried many sunscreens: mineral-based, chemical, and others that use a combination. I'm now leaning away from mineral-based sunscreens since I can't get used to the chalky white residue which makes you look strange and gets on your clothes and equipment.Suncreens like this one from Sun Bum use chemical sun blockers, so they generally are more user-friendly but are not considered as "safe" as mineral-based sunscreen. If you or your children are in a vulnerable population then maybe you want to avoid chemical sunscreens in general. The active ingredients in chemical sunscreens are designed to be absorbed through the skin to do their job, but they can also get into your bloodstream and the rest of your body. This product excludes the two ingredients which have the highest toxicity concerns: oxybenzone and octinoxate. So for me personally, I consider it a fair trade-off between usability and safety. In terms of sun protection, my favorite is Neutrogena Sport Face. It works great but has some bad chemical ingredients and occasionally stings my eyes. This product does not sting, has less potentially harmful ingredients, and is reef-friendly. Cons: it does not offer the same level of protection (SPF 50 vs 70+ for the Neutrogena and does not last as long), I do not like the watery consistency, and the price at $4.33/oz is a little higher than I would prefer to spend.

Sheer
I love that this goes on sheer. It absorbs quickly and does not leave you with that white mask look. I am fair skinned, blue eyed and burn very quickly. My nose is most susceptible to sunburn. We ride a motorcycle and the mirrored sunglasses seem to direct the sun right to my nose first. I also have seborrehic keratosis that means I have to keep my skin out of the sun. This product works great. I highly recommend it.

Worth it
Amazing product. I’m genuinely impressed. It goes on super smooth, doesn’t leave a white cast, and feels more like a light moisturizer than a sunscreen. I love that I don’t look shiny.

Favorite facial sunscreen
Love all sun bum products! Especially like that this is gentle on more sensitive facial skin. Doesn't have strong sunscreen smell.
