Heat Distribution (5*) Easy to Clean (5*) Lightweight (????????)
Erm no..... It's not lightweight. But that's a good thing! It's described as 'heavy duty' for a reason, the reason being that these Tava (Tawa) pans are used as a surface that needs to get very hot , to offer even heat distribution across the pan and have enough thermal mass that it retains the heat when you put cold things on it. You can't get these properties from some skinny lightweight aluminium 'ting. You need steel and plenty of it.Time will tell if the non-stick properties last, but the initial impressions are good. The pan is, as described, a good heavy duty construction being made of a steel pan with the wooden handle being an absolute necessity to make sure you don't inadvertently cook yourself when you pick it up. The rivets used to attach the handle to the pan look good and strong with plenty of meat on them, so they shouldn't loosen up as a result of a few heat/cool cycles. The only downside was that the bottom edge of the pan was like a razor blade on initial inspection. I guess these things are stamped out of sheet metal before forming and coating and there's no process in place to break the edge of the blank. This problem was quickly resolved with the application of a fine grit knife sharpening stone to deburr the edge, however, so no big problem.Aside from the lack of finesse on the finishing, however, I'm very happy with the purchase.

Disappointed. Non stick failed.
Looks good. Feels good. Burnt my dosa.Ok, I would have sent this tawa back, but I've had this nearly 3 months but didn't get to use it straight away because of extra work with everything that's going on (my better half and I are key workers and are working extra shifts, so we're like ships in the night). So one of the rare occasions when we're at home at the same reasonable hour I thought ....masala dosa time.First off, I've cooked doses many times. I used it as instructed but the dosa stuck in the middle and burned. The heat was medium and also on the underside appear to be little blisters but the pan doesn't itself kook as if it's been anywhere near heat, never mind a cooker - basically, there are no burn mark's or discolouration on the underside of the tawa, yet it's blistered and the central bit on the cooking side is discoloured and rough.

Fabulous
Really good quality pan. Great for flat bread. Heavy and worth the money

Ideal for naan
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this hoping that it wouldn’t be really non stick, as I want the naan to stick to it. This has proved perfect. Dampen one side with water, place it wet side down onto the tawa for a short while then turn it over to cook and brown it over the gas. Perfect naan. It’s not too heavy, seems solid and well made and should last a long time. Fairly easy to clean, and while I can’t comment on the non stick, I can recommend it for the sticky naan method.

Just barely made it through one use
Not of very good quality. The non-stick surface has started to peel after one heavy use.

easy to use and clean
I bought this for my wife who wanted one she made the chapattis on it and they turned out just great and she also said that it was easy to use and clean afterwards and recommends itUpdate 26th march ….after using this for just over a week the tawa has developed a rough area in the middle of it which if your not careful will burn your chapatis ….the outside top surface is fine but I wouldn't recommend buying it will be looking for a better quality one
